Welcome back to The Kings Arms! We are very excited to reopen the pub and meet you all. We thought we should introduce ourselves and the story of how we came to be here ahead of our reopening on 21st April.
We are Tina and Mark Silver and Cath and Richard Witt – we’ve been friends for over 35 years now, and can’t wait to get started on this next adventure.
The initial idea behind running The Kings Arms actually came about when we were all on holiday in Norway last summer. Overlooking a lake and settled in with uncounted cups of tea, Mark mentioned the advert he’d seen for the pub. After fully chatting it through, we thought it would be a great idea – and six months later, here we are!
It brings together so many things we love and draws upon our previous combined experiences.
Tina and Mark previously owned and ran a 5-star hotel in the South of France for 20 years, which also had a spa and a Michelin-starred restaurant.
Richard and Cath were looking for a meaningful and local opportunity, which they aim to do by developing and growing the pub into the heart of the village. Richard is also a fishing enthusiast and Cath’s passion for good food will come to life when our kitchen reopens.
We all believe this is truly a great place to explore the wider region while following our passions for food, fishing, dogs, and hospitality.
Not to forget two of the most important team members, we must introduce you to Moose and Mouse – our mascots and Richard’s inspiration for our company name! You will definitely see them around the pub, and they can’t wait to meet and welcome you and yours soon!
