Resolution: Take Up a New Hobby

Looking for a hobby that combines adventure with tranquillity? Fly fishing might be the thing you’re looking for. The Kings Arms has our very own private fishing beat along the River Eden, where you can try your hand at catching wild grayling and brown trout.

We offer day fishing passes at just £10 for hotel residents, and if you’re new to the sport, we can help arrange lessons with Stuart Wardle of The Durham Fly Fishing Company.

Stuart provides all the equipment, including waders, rods, and flies, and his friendly approach makes him ideal for everyone from complete beginners to seasoned anglers. If you’d like more information, check out our blog.
