Three Reasons Why You Should Visit the Kings Arms in Temple Sowerby This Spring

What Can Our Guests Get Up to this Spring?

Spring in Temple Sowerby, Cumbria, is an unmissable experience. Nestled in the heart of the Eden Valley, this charming village is an ideal escape for those looking to relax, take in some fresh air, reconnect with nature and enjoy a slower pace of life.

Get Into Fly-Fishing

The Kings Arms is located near the River Eden, famous for its fly fishing. Spring is an ideal time to catch some of the area’s legendary wild grayling and trout.

What’s more, we have our own area along the river, a private beat of about half a mile in the beautiful Eden Valley. Whether you’re an experienced angler or a beginner, the river is a serene setting where you can unwind, surrounded by lush greenery and the sound of the flowing water.

Keen to give it a go? Please find more details on equipment, lessons, and access on our Fishing page here.

Take a Hike!

If fishing isn’t your thing, don’t worry — there’s still plenty to do. At the Kings Arms, we are surrounded by glorious countryside, traffic-free country roads, awe-inspiring lakes and fells, and beautiful villages. The area has so many walking, hiking, and cycling routes, and spring is the time to do it all with the countryside returning to life!

Why not take a gentle walk to see the incredible snowdrop display at nearby Acorn Bank? It’s a sight you will never forget!

By visiting in the spring, you will also enjoy watching lambs playing in the surrounding fields! Please remember to keep your dogs on leads and under control to avoid upsetting the sheep, and follow The Countryside Code.
